Brad Friedman reports on an upcoming article in Maxim on the mysterious death of Bush's cyber-guru Mike Connell

•Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who reported in detail on Ohio's 2004 election debacle for Rolling Stone magazine was interviewed for the story, and tells Worrall that he believes what happened during that election was "more serious than Watergate" as "The Ohio vote undermines the very foundation stone of American democracy." He goes on to call for an "official investigation. Otherwise this becomes a blueprint for how to steal an election from here to eternity."

About how I would grade him at this point.

Edward Jay Epstein: The Anthrax Attacks Remain Unsolved

Shows that the anthrax was weaponized and beyond the ability of the suspected scientist Bruce Ivins.
Howard Zinn

"Historically, the most terrible things - war, genocide, and slavery - have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience."

“I suggest that if you know history, then you might not be so easily fooled by the government when it tells you you must go to war for this or that reason -that history is a protective armor against being misled.” --

Fringe physicist Jack Sarfatti has filed a criminal complaint against Gordon Novel.

“An allegedly armed delusional violent ex-convict felon Gordon Dwayne Novel (DOB Feb 7, 1938, New Orleans LA) allegedly now living in Santa Monica, California and his son Sur Novel, allegedly flying to Los Angeles, California from Bangkok, Thailand to aid and abet his father’s violent threats, have been using the internet to send me harassing e-mails with threats of severe bodily harm including castration, blinding in both eyes, ripping off of ears, breaking of bones. Gordon and Sur Novel have threatened to stalk me and attack me in a restaurant in San Francisco when I least expect it. Gordon Novel has a history of making such violent threats to many people some of whom I have copied in the cc list. I would like to press criminal charges against both Gordon Novel and his son Sur Novel for their violation of Statute 18 U.S.C. § 875(c) and under California Penal Code 422. I will file formal complaints in person with SFPD, SF District Attorney and San Francisco Office of the FBI ASAP.”
Former military intelligence officer and remote viewer Maj. Ed Dames says that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. I say that "remote viewing" is bunk.

So yesterday we have Republican Senator Scott Brown photographed in the kitchen with his bikini-clad daughters ("they're available") and Brown himself of course was photographed naked for Cosmo. Now it turns out that his wife was in a salacious music video "Girl with a Curious Hand." She can give me a hand any time.

T. Casey Brennan is a homeless comic-book writer who believes that he was involved in the Kennedy assassination. He has a new comic out titled Hypothetical Cerebus. More here. He says that he was forced to take a shot at JFK and that David Ferrie then shot the President. The problem with that scenario is that Ferrie was in New Orleans at the time of the assassination. Casey also has a wikipedia page.

So our new Senator from Massachusets has two hot daughters, Ayla and Arianna

More at Huffington Post

I sometimes debate politics with the proprietors (Rhino and Donkey) of a small wingnut blog that I will not name. They apparently see the Mass. loss as the opening shot in the "tea party" revolution. I countered that the tea party folks are (I hope) too nutty to prevail. This photo, I think, of teaparty.org leader Dale Robertson proves my point. (Via Little Green Footballs)
Also proving once again that crazy people don't know they're crazy.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. - Dr. Martin Luther King
Pat Robertson and the Haitian pact with the devil

Obviously the good Reverend knows something about Satan as the above photo clearly shows. Recently Pat Robertson blamed the earthquake in Haiti on an alleged pact with the devil made in 1791, a fabrication according to this CNN story. Other reports indicate it's all true.

It is a matter of well-documented historical fact that the nation of Haiti was dedicated to Satan 200 years ago. On August 14, 1791, a group of houngans (voodoo priests), led by a former slave houngan named Boukman, made a pact with the Devil at a place called Bois-Caiman. All present vowed to exterminate all of the white Frenchmen on the island. They sacrificed a black pig in a voodoo ritual at which hundreds of slaves drank the pig's blood. In this ritual, Boukman asked Satan for his help in liberating Haiti from the French. In exchange, the voodoo priests offered to give the country to Satan for 200 years and swore to serve him. On January 1, 1804, the nation of Haiti was born and thus began a new demonic tyranny.

According to a Salon story Rev. Robertson is wrong. The Haitians did not make a deal with Satan, they made a deal with Petwo.

Part of the revolution mythology is that one of the revolution leaders sacrificed a pig in Bois Caïmin in a voodoo ceremony and made a contract with Petwo [Haitian voodoo spirits]. It may or may not be true, but to call that a pact with the devil is a gross misrepresentation of what voodoo is. It's about anything but the devil. He's imposing an evangelical religious order on a much more sophisticated practice, and he's turning it into a cheap invocation of Satanism.

OK, this is kind of funny

I just got a call from a friend who is part of the relief effort in Haiti. At sunrise this morning, citizens in the northern part of Port au Prince, witnessed movement in the piles of dead that had been Stacked on Balan street. It appeared as though the dead had returned to life and are milling around aimlessly making weird gutteral noises.
Good morning loyal readers. WorldNetDaily has an interesting piece about presidential advisor Cass Sunstein and conspiracy theories. Apparently Sunstein wrote a Harvard Law paper in 2008 called "Conspiracy Theories".

In the 30-page paper – obtained and reviewed by WND – Sunstein argues the best government response to "conspiracy theories" is "cognitive infiltration of extremist groups."

Continued Sunstein: "We suggest a distinctive tactic for breaking up the hard core of extremists who supply conspiracy theories: cognitive infiltration of extremist groups, whereby government agents or their allies (acting either virtually or in real space, and either openly or anonymously) will undermine the crippled epistemology of believers by planting doubts about the theories and stylized facts that circulate within such groups, thereby introducing beneficial cognitive diversity."

Sunstein said government agents "might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action."
Sunstein lists a number of "conspiracy theories". One is "The view that the Central Intelligence Agency was responsible for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy." Sunstein does admit that "some conspiracy theories, under our definition, have turned out to be true."

I'm back

Sorry, loyal readers, for the lack of blogging of late. I have been pre-occupied with the job hunt (hire me), my new girlfriend, and other stuff.

WorldNetDaily: Is the Secret Service Watching Birthers?

In blogs, interviews and e-mails, "birthers" around the country are reporting surveillance and visits from the U.S. Secret Service, whose agents have questioned – or, as some report, intimidated – them over their insistence that Barack Obama prove his constitutional eligibility to serve as president.
