The Palin Pick

John McCain's pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is a mind-boggling act of desperation and shows poor judgement.

First, for a candidate who happens to be the oldest man ever to run for the office, and one with a history of cancer at that, to select someone younger and less-experienced than Barack Obama does make one wonder just what was he thinking. Does John McCain think that former Hillary supporters will vote for him because he picked a pro-life VP who happens to be a woman?

Second, for John McCain to select as his running-mate someone who is currently under investigation for abusing her office again makes one wonder just what was he thinking. Now she is innocent unless proven guilty, and she may well be innocent, but couldn't McCain find someone who is not being investigated for something? But then he is a Republican.

if she was a runnerup for Miss Alaska, wonder if there are some compromising pictures of her somewhere taken by some photographer.

OK, I confess. The photo on top of this post is actually of pornstar Eva Angelina. There is a resembance though although Eva is about 20 years younger. Love the glasses.

Where's the harm in how she and her sister went about their family matters? Evidently, they figured they could chill the brother-in-law/husband by making it appear easy to have him fired, which would make it difficult or impossible for him to continue to pay child support (surely there's a wage attachment), meaning he can (and would) be locked up. You would think that's sufficient to chill the guy. It happens to be the way things get done, it's called enlightened self-interest. I don't see where her innuendo was unethical if the brother-in-law/husband was being a cad.

It can be a fun campaign if the debating issues are about torture, drug war reform, capital punishment, pregnancy choices, 'Creationism', 'homosexuality', 'global warming', and baby farming.

When Lieberman turned him down, but in the wrong ear, he added "How about asking Valerie Plame" (you can see it on one of the videos, McCain grins and nods), which McCain heard as 'Alaska gal Palin'. It does lend a lot of credence to the rumor that the four candidates play a set of nude beach volley ball at the Bohemian Grove (which, I've learned, has been moved to October and to the Laurel Mountains in PA, either at Rolling Rock or Slippery Rock). It's like the same as if Hillary Clinton picked Jesse Ventura.

I am sure there is someone out there with some "celebrity skin" photographs out there with her. McCain picked her because she is a woman, pure and simple. The week after he made his pick, the right wing blogs and fox news were drooling over her.
