The latest opinion poll shows President Bush's approval rating at 33%. It is interesting to compare that poll to this one, in which the public is asked to rate all the Presidents back to Roosevelt. Here are Bush's ratings:
Within the margin of error, about the same percentage think Bush is a great President as approve of his performance. First of all, of course, who are these people? Second, it appears that Bush's rating are unlikely to go much below a one-third approval rating, if about that percentage still class him as a "great" President. And third, who the hell are these people?

Yes. Unfortunately I know someone like that--around here we call him the dumbest person we know, which seems to be the general opinion. He's also a big Bush fan.

I can't stand Bush, his administration or anything he represnts, but I'll give him this, he's leaving a legacy and more to the point, there is nothing strange that 58% of the population. He articulated a very clear program, stuck to it without apology, got ultra-lucky with 9/11, but he guessed wrong on the Iraq move. In retrospect, he should have not bothered and just rode a pretty good economy and a booming housing market to an easy 2nd term win and an historical rating well above-average.
Or he should have had is DOD plan an invasion large enough to crush Iraq in a week. Nevertheless, the oil price remains high and anyone with investments in energy and construction related commodities have scored big-time. So, maybe a continuous war WAS the plan after all.
Blame the media and spineless Democats. Don't blame Bush for being Bush,
