A book by Judyth Baker, alleged lover of Lee Harvey Oswald, is available here. A bit expensive but I have ordered it, and will try to post a review later.

Judyth Vary Baker was born in Florida and was a "whiz kid" who came to the attention of Senator Smathers and some leading doctors and scientists, who soon used the young girl to research cancer. While doing this work in New Orleans, she met Lee Harvey Oswald and they both came to work at the Riley Coffee Company. Baker soon learned that her cancer research was to create a bio-weapon to kill Fidel Castro.

Baker was featured on Nigel Turner's The Men Who Killed Kennedy in a one-hour internationally shown segment, "The Love Affair". In addition, CBS's Sixty Minutes worked extensively with Ms. Baker.

As you know, this woman's story (which I first encountered on the History Channel) has aroused some controversy ont he newsgroups. She has supporters, but some of the problems with her allegations seemed, at first glance, pretty dificult to rationalize.

Much of her story dovetales with Ed Haslam's work. She insists that she never read Haslam before she went public. Perhaps that is true. But Dave Emory has interviewed Haslam at extreme length -- hours and hours of stuff -- and those interviews have long been available on the net.

It is generally accepted that she really did work for the Coffee Copany, but as for the rest...

I have not looked very deeply into Judyth's story. She has always been gracious with me in our email exchanges, and I do owe here my gratitude for sending me a set of CDs of George de Mohrenschildt reading his manuscript, and with occasional questions by Willem Oltmann. Judyth was in Budapest at the time, I believe it was, and she went out of her way to get that material to me.

Check out my essay. It's long, but so is her story -- or more properly, so are the many permutations of her story.

Should We Believe Judyth Baker?
